Winter Guided Walks: December 2022 – February 2023

Greenmount Village Community Walking Group

All are welcome, no membership is required, come regularly or just occasionally. You are advised to wear appropriate clothing and hiking boots. We will walk even if it is raining! On longer walks bring a packed lunch. There are plenty of stiles and several steep inclines. Sorry, no dogs. TUESDAY 27th DECEMBER
Countryside family and friends circular walk
Meeting point: Greenmount Old School BL8 4DS
Time Out: 10.30am, Time Back: 12.45pm.
Route: Kirklees Valley, Brandlesholme Hall, Woodrow,
Summerseat, Greenmount. Distance: 4 miles.

MONDAY 9th JANUARY
Sunrise walk over moors to Bull Hill
Meeting Place: Lumb Carr car park BL8 4NN
Time Out: 7am, Time Back: 12pm.
Route: Holcombe, Harcles Hill, Pilgrims’Cross, Bull
Hill, Ramsbottom, Tagg Wood. Distance: 8 miles.

MONDAY 16th JANUARY
Reservoirs circular
Meeting Place: Jumbles Car Park BL2 4JS
Time Out: 8.45am, Time Back: 3.30pm.
Route: Jumbles, Wayoh, Entwistle Jumbles.

WEDNESDAY 25th JANUARY
First of 2 walks to complete the Village Link
Meeting Place: Greenmount Old School BL8 4DS
Time Out: 8.40am, Time Back 3.00pm.
Route: Greenmount, Kirklees Trail, Walshaw,
Ainsworth, Affetside, Greenmount. Distance: 12 miles.

MONDAY 6th FEBRUARY
North Western Countryside walk
Meeting Place: Greenmount Old School BL8 4DS
Time Out: 8.40.am, Time Back: 12.30pm.
Route: Greenmount, Two Brooks Valley, Quarlton,
Hawkshaw, Greenmount. Distance: 6 miles.
