Tottington Scarecrow Festival

Residents of Tottington got creative this July with their annual scarecrow stuffing festival. The community came together with entries featured in front gardens for the judges to critique with the best winning prizes. All winners receiving a goody bag from 12th Bury and Rammy St. Annes Tottington scout group fundraiser.

This year’s winners were the “Wizard of Oz cast at the train station”, “Spongebob Squarepants and his side kick Patrick”, and “Frozen Elsa and Anna” coming a close third.

Angie Sutcliffe who won third prize for her Frozen Scarecrow scene told Your Local BURY Magazine “It’s a great thing to enter each year and lovely to walk around on a summers night seeing how creative my neighbours have been. It’s simply great light-hearted fun!”

Special prizes also went to “Crow Salah our Scare Mo”, for the youngest entry of 2021 and “The Cricketer” for being the
first scarecrow of this year.

This is all about the local community coming together and after lockdown is now lifting it’s great to see so many families walking the totty snake and enjoying the creations Vikki Wheeler commented that even though they have had to be postponed she is looking forward to 2022 getting back to normal with scarecrows and much more planned for next year!
