New Pharmacy Built on Patient Care

A pharmacy that opened as the Pandemic hit has had to adapt fast to an ever changing healthcare need set by our community.
The Chemist Live based in Whitefield have become a provider of private Covid 19 testing and same day Fit to Fly testing which has become hugely important as lockdown eases and many of us hope to get away on holiday.

The owners Muhammed Rafiq and Waqas Hanif have come from a NHS community pharmacy background and were prompted to open their own business after seeing first-hand the slow decline of a one-to-one patient experience in this setting. Muhammed told Your Local BURY “We wanted to offer a way to re-introduce a more personal service back into our community by opening a private pharmacy.

Within this setting we believed this would allow us to deliver an individualised patient focused experience and access to healthcare services such as blood testing, travel vaccinations and intolerance testing to name a few. It also allows patients who may be overlooked by their GPs access to healthcare which would otherwise be a nuisance to arrange as it so commonly is nowadays.”

The pharmacy make sure they are constantly keeping on top of everchanging rules and regulations so that potential travellers are tested ready for them to enjoy their holiday.

Bookings are available online and by phone and appointments lengths are long enough for the trained staff to assess and reassure the patients with any needs and timescales required.

Waqas reflected on the support they had on setting up their new business “We thank everyone who has helped us grow as a business over the last year and we can’t wait to welcome many more people into our clinic on Bury New Road, Whitefield in the near future.”
