Grants Available for Local Charities

Bury Athenaeum, which dates back to 1852, is a charitable organisation which aims to facilitate activities for the ‘moral, intellectual and cultural benefit of the citizens of Bury. It currently hosts a wide range of activities including bridge, embroidery, creative writing, a widows association plus a wide range of U3A groups. Each year, dependent on the level of any operating surplus, it also makes grants available to other local charities, who broadly meet its own charitable objectives. Many charities have received grants in the past including Bury Music Centre, Tottington Library, Radcliffe Male Voice Choir and The Phoenix Youth and Community Centre. Grant applications are now invited for the year 2023.
Applications, describing how any grant money would be used, should be sent to Neville Edmondson, Chair of Trustees, Bury Athenaeum, Moss Street, Bury BL9 0DF. Applications to be received by 1st March 2023.
