Christmas Dinner For Those In Need

For the last four Christmases, a group of local teenagers in Ramsbottom have been in involved in organising a meal on Christmas Day. The ‘Impact’ group, part of the YCW, raise funds, peel, chop, serve, wrap presents and in conjunction with CARITAS, the Salford Diocesan Charity, have provided Christmas Dinner for 150 people each year. The Impact group are again helping to set up and serve dinner in Bury on Christmas day. This will be for vulnerable families, the homeless, people on their own and anyone who would appreciate some help during what can be a difficult time. The meal this year will be on a delivery and take away service only as a sit-down meal is not possible during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Impact group and Caritas would like to say a big thank you to the following businesses; The Victoria Walshaw for their continued help, support and advice with the food, and the Manchester Branch of the CCJ who will be providing most of the transport on the day. Also, gratitude goes to our main financial sponsors, Nestor Financial Planning and Fairtrade IFA Ramsbottom. The meal could not go ahead without the kindness of Bury Parish Church and the generosity of the parishioners of St. Josephs Ramsbottom, Guardian Angels’ Bury and St Hilda’s Tottington. If you or anyone you know would like to receive a delivery, please contact 07855 306074 to book a meal.
