Autumn Guided Walks – Greenmount Village Community Walking Group

All are welcome, no membership required, come regularly or just occasionally. You are advised to wear appropriate clothing and hiking boots. We will walk even if it is raining! On longer walks bring a packed lunch. There are plenty of stiles and several steep inclines. Sorry no dogs. MONDAY 9th OCTOBER

2nd of circular walks on West Pennine Way Turton Tower to Belmont.

Meeting Place: Turton Tower BL7 0HG.

Time Out: 9.00am.

Time Back: 3.30pm.

Route: Cheetham Close, Longworth Clough, Belmont back via Delph Reservoir.

Distance: 12 miles.

WEDNESDAY 18th OCTOBER

Pilgrims’ Way 2nd of four walks from Whalley to Manchester.

Meeting Place: Haslingden, Hud Rake BB4 5AL.

Time Out: 9.00am.

Time Back: 3.30pm at Greenmount.

Route: Haslingden, Helmshore, Holcombe Moor, Hawkshaw, Greenmount.

Distance: 11 miles.

MONDAY 6th NOVEMBER

Woods around the Irwell. Meeting

Place: Greenmount Old School BL8 4DS.

Time Out: 8.40am.

Time Back: 12.30pm.

Route: Redisher, Woodhey, Burrs, Kirklees.

Distance: 6 miles.

MONDAY 13th NOVEMBER

3rd of circular walks on West Pennine Way, Belmont to Two Lads.

Meeting Place: Belmont San Marinos BL7 9QT.

Time Out: 9.00am.

Time Back: 3.30pm.

Route: Belmont, Winter Hill, Smithills Moor Two Lads back via Winter Hill.

Distance: 12 miles.

WEDNESDAY 22nd NOVEMBER

Pilgrims’ Way 3rd of four walks from Whalley to Manchester.

Meeting Place: Behind Greenmount Church, BL8 4HF.

Time Out: 8.30am.

Time Finish: St Mary’s Church Radcliffe 2.00pm. Using public transport, back to Greenmount.

Route: Greenmount to pick up route at Hawkshaw, Affetside, Barrack Fold, Ainsworth, Starling, Withins Reservoir, Radcliffe.

Distance: 11 miles.
