A Successful 1st Year For Ladies Gym Owner

Local resident, Janet Fryett and her daughter Hannah are enjoying a double celebration, with Gymophobics celebrating 20 years and their 1st anniversary as owners of the Whitefield-based, ladies-only gym.

Janet told Your Local BURY, “We took over the gym in May 2022 having never done anything like this before. I started as a member the previous October and loved the whole concept, so when the previous owner said that she was having to close the gym due to personal reasons I was devasted.”

So, Janet decided to give up a full time HR Managers role and enlisted her eldest daughter Hannah to help take on the business.
“I have worked with Hannah in previous roles and now love the whole idea of Mother & Daughter helping a wide range of ages between us.

“I would never have dreamt of being the owner of the gym, and we have been on a huge learning curve but we’re both really enjoying the journey.

“We offer free taster sessions and take the time to explain everything we do, we are not a conventional gym, ladies are not just a number here. We get to know them all personally and treat them all individually.”

Gymophobics has helped thousands of ladies over the years, and they look to be continuing their success with Janet and Hannah at the helm. The team has already grown, with Diane who is another instructor and Clair who is an instructor Assistant.
