50 Years Celebration For PT’s School Wear

Bury school wear provider, PT’s are delighted to be celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year!

PT’s School Wear (formerly known as Pretty Things) was officially opened in October 1971 by Manchester City footballer Mike Summerbee, and is celebrating its 50th year of business this Autumn. The shop began business as a baby boutique with proud owner Maureen Withers, supported by her sister Eileen Harrison.

Maureen’s niece, Paula Roberts, and husband Ian Roberts took over the business at the start of the millennium and opened a
second shop in Radcliffe in 2008, with daughter Rachael Weibrecht joining the family business. PT’s is now firmly established as the area’s specialist in children’s school wear, supplying over 40 schools within the borough.

Ian and Paula are delighted to celebrate their 50th year, and to have re-opened both their shops after the covid pandemic. “It’s fantastic to be open again and see those familiar faces coming into the shop. Our customers return year after year, and we have served generations of the same families, offering knowledgable and expert advice alongside first class service.

We are really looking forward to the new school year and seeing both old and new customers this summer!
