The proud owners of a brand new Bridal shop opening in Prestwich are Katherine Davies and Sally-Ann McGladdery. “We’re both local and live in Whitefield and have been friends for 15 years, after meeting through our families mutual love of cricket. Our sons have all played for Stand Cricket Club and we spend a lot of our spare time socialising at the club!” said Kath. “Sally-Ann has worked as a seamstress at various places including bridal shops, for over 30 years. We both wanted a new challenge and with Sally-Ann’s expert seamstress skill and my business & marketing knowledge, between us we decided that bridalwear was the perfect industry.” We’re really passionate that everyone should look and feel fantastic on their wedding day but that choice is very limited for women with curvier figures. That’s why we decided to specialise in plus size wedding dresses and Bridal 1632 was born!” The name 1632 relates to the size of their sample dresses, as they all range from size 16 to size 32. This dynamic duo’s mission is to deliver a special dress shopping experience to every bride regardless of their shape or size. Sally-Ann adds, “We’ve carefully chosen designers that have excellent ranges for curvier brides and are proud to be working with Ladybird, Rosa Couture and Eternity Bridal. We have over 30 sample dresses inn stock so there is plenty of choice and with dresses starting from £750 we offer great value for money”.
