Farrars Cafe and Tea Room

New Cafe and Tea Rooms open on RADCLIFFE MARKET

Farrars Cafe and Tea RoomFarrars Cafe and Tea Room is the latest top quality addition to the newly refurbished Radcliffe Market Hall.

The cafe is the latest venture by Upper Campfield Events, the pioneers behind Castlefield Market, Friday Food Fight and the Off The High Street Christmas Market. As with all of their events, the cafe will be showcasing and supporting the plethora of independent local talent which is in offer in the area.

Campfield Events director Asif Hayat said: “We’re so excited about this great opportunity to start something new in our local town. We have been looking for the right space locally for a while and Radcliffe is so perfectly placed for something amazing to happen – we can’t wait to get going!”

Jodie Bannister added: “The cafe is just the beginning of the plans which we have for this new venture – in September, we will be bringing lots of new traders down for a pop-up Saturday fine food market. Hopefully this will attract lots more traders to get involved and we can get a real buzz going. We are committed to creating events and spaces which support and celebrate new creative talent especially in food, which is our passion and we believe we can create a really amazing food and events space for Radcliffe.”

Councillor Mike Connolly, leader of Bury Council, said: “We are delighted to welcome Farrars Cafe and Tea Room to Radcliffe Market. This is the icing on the cake of the newly refurbished market hall, and I’m sure it will prove extremely popular with customers.

“Substantially improving the market was an important step in our continuing regeneration of Radcliffe town centre, along with a new bus station and a major retail-led scheme which will be on the way very soon.”

The cafe will contain everything created locally by artisan and independent producers. All Farrars coffees are roasted by local artisan coffee roasters, Ancoats Coffee Co, and all baked goods on offer are from artisan bakers Hunters from Bolton. There will be fresh bread and morning pastries, breakfast and lunch specials and paninis, fresh cream cakes and tray bakes, all freshly baked on the morning, and loose leaf teas blended to Farrar’s own blends.

Campfield Events currently run Castlefield Market which happens every first Saturday of the month and has been running for four years, and recently ran their first Secret Film Society event. They were the pioneers behind the very successful Friday Food Fight which showcased the great food on offer in the city centre.

This latest venture on Radcliffe Market will soon be complemented by future artisan markets co-ordinated by Campfield Events and Bury Council.
