Eagle’s Book Stall

Eagle’s – aims to get you reading more books!

Jennifer Eagle-Cooper runs Eagle’s Bookstall and describes the business as, “small and friendly with a great knowledge of all the books we sell.”

Having worked in pubs for many years, Jennifer jumped at the chance to get involved in the family business. Jennifer’s father in Law, Jim Eagle and wife Yvonne, started the business in 1980 after Jim had worked in a London bookshop during the 1950’s. Jim passed away a couple of years ago, so Jennifer has been pleased to continue the family business.

She said, “I love the buzz of the market and meeting all types of different characters who come to the stall. It’s great to see younger children choosing their first books and hopefully we can encourage them to enjoy reading throughout their lives. A lot of kids only look at computer or phone screens these days so we offer children’s books at 3 for £5 as an incentive. We also offer a book exchange on all adult books bought from us.”

“Our ethos is to keep all our customers reading for a very long time!”

So if you want to encourage the kids off the electronic devices, take them down to Eagle’s where they can get a great deal from the very amiable Jennifer – 3 books for a fiver! Or you might just need a good book for your holidays!

Eagle’s Book Stall is located at Unit 32 inside Bury Market Hall Open every day except Tuesday & Sunday.
