Bury FC 2018/19 Season

Bury have enjoyed a solid start to their first season back in League Two since 2015, currently sitting just outside the playoffs in eighth place. After an opening day win over Yeovil things looked rosy at Gigg Lane, however Bury would only gain one more point in August (1-1 vs Forest Green Rovers) with loses to MK Dons, Lincoln, Crawley and a narrow penalty loss to Nottingham Forest in the League Cup seeing fans dread another season of disappointment was on the cards.

As September began, Bury suddenly found their winning formula, putting together three league wins on the spin, (Morecambe, Grimsby and Swindon) with the highlight being the 4-0 thumping of Grimsby in one of Bury’s best performances of recent years. Momentum was briefly stalled with a 1-0 home loss to Carlisle, but the Shakers saw out September with a solid 2-1 win over Colchester, ending the first two months of the season with 16 points from 10 games.Heading into October Bury have some huge games against the likes of Northampton, Notts County and Port Vale, all games Ryan Lowe will be expecting three points from.
