BOOK YOUR FREE PLACE ON THE INTERNET OF THINGS WORKSHOP

A free workshop introducing people to the Internet of Things is being held at Bury Library.

This is the latest initiative through the Big Ideas Generator, and takes place on Friday 15 December from 10am to 4pm.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a fast developing growth area which combines hardware, software and data expertise.

This introductory course will cover the basics of connected devices using the low cost Raspberry Pi computer and the Arduino micro controller board.

The course is suitable for anyadults with an interest in the Internet of Things. Beginners are welcome – no previous experience of coding, programming or electronics is needed.

You will need your own laptop to connect to the wi-fi hotspot and a free USB port.

You will also need to install software to program the Arduino. This can be downloaded from https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/HomePage which should be done before the course so you’re ready to go from the start.

Places are free, but must be booked by going to https://burybiginternetofthings.eventbrite.co.uk
