Beauty Tips

Makeup Artist Kiera-Louise shares her top tips on making sure your makeup turns heads this Valentines day…

Maximise Your Lashes
Let your eyes do the talking…Apply mascara by wiggling the wand back and forth at the roots to deposit as much of it as possible before pulling the wand straight up. To make lashes look long and separated, apply three coats of mascara.

Smooth Those Smackers
There’s nothing worse than chapped lips on valentines! To make sure yours are soft and smooth make a lip conditioner part of your daily routine. When choosing one, look for products that contain petrolatum, Shea butter, hyaluronic acid or ceramides.

Avoid waxy formulas (their ingredients may not penatrate) as well as anything heavily flavoured or frangranced (which can actually make chapping even worse)

Give yourself a flush
Don’t underestimate how good blush can make you look. A cream formula looks the most natural, goes on sheer, and is easy to blend. To find your best shade, gently pinch your cheeks and match the blush to the colour you get.

Pack a punch
The easiest – and sexiest – way to update your perfect outfit on valentines day is relentlessly red lipstick. Notice how when you see someone with a bold red lip you can’t really look away from her semi shiny deep-red mouth? That’s a pretty good indication that your lipstick is working.
